Want to be spellbound? Enjoy watching the patterns of colour come together in this simple but crafty rainbow serpent. You could paint the scales or use dot painting as other ideas. Depending on the ages of your children will determine the level of patterning and scale collage. Have fun creating beautiful pieces of art.

Materials: Various coloured pieces of paper, paper plate, 2 goggle eyes, paper glue, large circle punch, scissors, tin foil.Step 1: Cut out a snake shape from the paper plate. Start from the outside and cut at a slight angle and evenly spaced until you reach the centre and leave a larger space at the middle for the head.Step 2: Either cut out or use a large circle punch to make circles for the scales.Step 3: Collect a range of different coloured dots.Step 4: Glue the dots onto the serpent as scales and make sure to include circles of tin foil to make the scales shine.Step 5: After the serpent’s back is covered in beautiful, shiny scales either paint the head or colour it in.Step 6: I used a green Sharpie pen for the snake’s head. Cut out a tongue shape from the left over paper and glue both the tongue and the eyes onto the serpents head.
